MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (November 22, 2010)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, November 18 at 11:53 pm, TFC N. E. Gresko while on-duty in the Wawa in California, observed a male subject that held two outstanding St. Mary's Sheriff Office warrants. The male subject was followed to a vehicle in the parking lot and placed under arrest following confirmation of the warrants. While arresting the male subject, TFC Gresko detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. All occupants of the vehicle were required to exit and a probable cause search was conducted. A search of Corey Raymond Cook, 20, of Callaway, was met with positive results. Mr. Cook was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Cook was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, November 19 at 2:41 am, TFC E. J. Page served an arrest warrant (T3-14610) on Paul William Barton, 51, of Lusby. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on October 4 with an original charge of Failure to Remain At Scene of Accident and Knowingly Giving False Accident Report Information. Mr. Barton was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention to be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, November 19 at 5:20 pm, Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann served a bench warrant (T3-14676) on Takeya Ravon Mason, 18, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued on November 16 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving Without the Required License. Ms. Mason was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Friday, November 19 at 5:37 pm, TFC M. R. Grimes responded to the 21000 block of Ritz Drive in Lexington Park for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 19, of Leonardtown, who advised she witnessed an assault on a female victim, 40, of Lexington Park. Statements provided by the victim, witness and a juvenile suspect resulted in the arrest of female juvenile, 13, of Lexington Park. The juvenile assaulted the victim while in a dispute. The juvenile was transported to the Maryland State Police in Leonardtown and later released to a guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Friday, November 19 at 10:34 pm, Tpr. S. M. Ditoto responded to the 21000 block of Winding Way in Lexington Park for a reported assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant, 28, of Lexington Park, who advised while engaged in an argument with Sandra Jo Beall, 27, of Lexington Park, he was assaulted. Information provided by witnesses and complainant indicated that while in an intoxicated state Ms. Beall became aggressive and assaulted the complainant both with her hands and with a chair inside of the residence. Ms. Beall was arrested for Second Degree Assault and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

RESISTING ARREST: On Saturday, November 20 at 12:12 am, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling observed a Ford SUV on the shoulder of Maryland Route 245 in the area of Dorsey Park. Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, Tpr. Reuschling was advised all the occupants were en route to an address in Hollywood. While information was obtained from multiple passengers in the vehicle, Cpl. P. A. Trossbach interviewed a male juvenile, 17, of Hollywood, whom was observed switching seats upon the Trooper's arrival on the scene. The juvenile became increasingly disorderly and aggressive, and was ultimately arrested for Obstructing and Hindering, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct. The juvenile was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and later released to a guardian pending further action by juvenile services.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, November 20 at 3:12 am, TFC N. E. Gresko was responding to a reported assault on Marshall Road in Mechanicsville. While en route, the Emergency Communications Center advised that the suspect had left the scene on foot and was believed to be in the area. Upon arrival in the area, TFC Gresko observed a male subject on foot entering a Chevrolet Silverado. TFC Gresko made contact with the vehicle and its occupants to ensure the passenger was not involved in the reported call. Upon contact, the passenger, later identified as James Mathew Dotson, 22, of Mechanicsville, had given a false name to TFC Gresko. A query through METERS/NCIC revealed that Mr. Dotson had an outstanding warrant. Mr. Dotson was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed CDS and CDS Paraphernalia as well as evidence that proved he was involved in the initial assault. Mr. Dotson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Saturday, November 20 at 11:35 am, Tpr. S. Casarella responded to the McKay's Food in Leonardtown for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant, 42, of Leonardtown, who advised he observed a female subject attempt to pay for a portion of items in her possession but exited the retail establishment without paying for the remainder. Upon being stopped by the complainant, the female exited the store. A lookout was broadcast informing law enforcement personnel of the vehicle the suspect was driving. Vickie Carter Woodland, 40, of Avenue, was located several miles from the location and placed under arrest for Theft Under $100.00. Ms. Woodland was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
