LA PLATA, Md. (November 2, 2010)The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
MAN CHARGED WITH FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On November 1 at 7:44 p.m., officers responded to the 9400 block of Fendall Lane in Newburg for the report of a fight in progress. A preliminary investigation revealed several family members were involved in an altercation during which the suspect, Jerome Channing Henley, 26, of Pomfret, threatened them with a knife. According to the victims, he also slashed the tires on a vehicle that was parked in the driveway. Henley fled the scene prior to police arrival. Officers obtained an arrest warrant and located Henley at his house. He was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and destruction of property. Officers Morales, Chandler, Clagett and Christian made the arrest.
THEFT: Between October 26 - October 27, unknown suspects removed tires and rims from a car parked in the 12000 block of Burning Oak Court in Waldorf. The vehicle was left sitting on cinder blocks. Officers processed the scene for evidence and canvassed the area for witnesses.
