CALIFORNIA, Md. (October 29, 2010)Local governments announced schedule changes and closings for the coming General Election on Tuesday, November 2, and the Veterans Day holiday on Thursday, November 11.
CALVERT COUNTY
The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners announced that county offices will be closed for Election Day and the Veterans Day holiday.
The three county senior centers will be closed on Election Day and Veterans Day. Meals on Wheels will be delivered on both days.
All county solid waste facilities, including the Appeal Landfill and county convenience centers, will be open for normal business hours on both Election Day and Veterans Day.
County public transportation will not be available on Election Day and Veterans Day.
Calvert Library locations will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Election Day and will be closed on Veterans Day.
CHARLES COUNTY
The offices of Charles County government and the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville will be closed in observance of Election Day and Veterans Day. Curbside recycling service, yard waste collection, and the operation of the County landfill, recycling centers, and composting facility will not be affected.
ST. MARY'S COUNTY
The St. Mary's County government will operate on normal schedules on Election Day. However, government offices will closed in observance of Veterans Day.
MTA COMMUTER BUS SERVICE
There is no Commuter Bus Service on Thursday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day.
