LEONARDTOWN, Md. (October 29, 2010)The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On October 28 at approximately 11:17 p.m., deputies responded to the intersection of Missouri Avenue and Patuxent Road in Lexington Park for a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies encountered Kirk Ramsey Morgan, 45 of Lexington Park, who was intoxicated, yelling and cursing. Morgan's disorderly behavior caused several of the townhouse community residents to step outside of their homes to investigate the disturbance. Officers had encounters earlier in the evening with Morgan acting in a disorderly manner and causing a disturbance. Morgan was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.
BORDER TO BORDER SOBRIETY CHECK POINT: On October 28, the sheriff's office, in cooperation with the Calvert County Sheriff's Office, conducted a
border-to-border sobriety check point on Maryland Route 4 at the base of the Thomas Johnson Bridge in Solomon's and California. Ninety-three vehicles passed through the St. Mary's County check point and ninety-four vehicle passed through the Calvert County check point during the operation.
In St. Mary's County, two vehicles were stopped and the drivers were investigated for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol.
However, after conducting standardized field sobriety testing, it was determined the operators of the vehicles
were not impaired.
A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle operated Jeffery Conrad Stortzum, 32, of California. A computer check of Stortzum's revealed his privilege to operate a motor vehicle was suspended. In addition, Stortzum had and open bench warrant in Calvert County. Stortzum was arrested and turned over to the Calvert County Sheriff's Office for processing.
The Calvert County Sheriff's Office arrested two individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol.
