PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (October 14, 2010)Carl Wood, CalvART Gallery president, recently presented Calvert Hospice director Peter Briguglio with a check for $430. The money was raised during the gallerys Take a Seat for Chair-ity show, held last February through March. Gallery artists designed and decorated chairs, which were then displayed at the show where the public could make bids and purchase them. Proceeds benefited Calvert Hospice, Project Echo and the Arts Council of Calvert County.
The CalvART Gallery, located in the Prince Frederick Shopping Center, is a cooperative gallery affiliated with the Arts Council of Calvert County. The co-op consists of 28 artists from southern Maryland. Each year, the artists collaborate to raise money for other local organizations.
Were so pleased to be a beneficiary of the CalvART Gallerys fundraising event, said Briguglio. What a creative way to give back to the community.
