LEONARDTOWN, Md. (October 14, 2010)The St. Mary's County Board of Education approved several administrative appointments at its meeting of October 13. All appointments became effective immediately.
The Board appointed Ms. Jamie Jameson to the position of assistant principal at Leonardtown Elementary School. Ms. Jameson's experience includes serving as an instructional resource teacher at Benjamin Banneker and George Washington Carver Elementary Schools, an assistant principal at Dynard Elementary, and a preschool teacher at the Little Seedlings School. Ms. Jameson holds a Master of Arts degree in teaching from the University of Pittsburgh (PA), and a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from James Madison University (VA).
The Board also appointed Ms. Beth Ramsey to the position of assistant principal at George Washington Carver Elementary School. Ms. Ramsey most recently served as a fifth grade teacher at Jenifer Elementary School in Charles County. Her experience also includes serving as a new teacher mentor and a third grade teacher. Ms. Ramsey earned a Master of Education degree in reading from Towson University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in human studies from St. Mary's College.
Ms. Madelyn Giles was named a college and career readiness coach at Great Mills High School. She most recently served as a special education teacher with Stafford County Public Schools in VA. Her experience also includes serving as an assistant principal at Massaponax High School in Fredericksburg, VA; an administrative assistant, administrative intern, athletic intern, and social studies teacher in the King George County School System (VA); and a summer school teacher in Stafford County Public Schools. Ms. Giles earned a Master of Education degree in educational leadership from the University of Mary Washington (VA), and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and secondary education from Wilkes University (PA).
