LEONARDTOWN, Md. (October 1, 2010)The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Monday, September 27 at 7:17am, Tpr. E. R. Mersman responded to the 43000 block of North Megan Lane in Leonardtown for a reported domestic assault. Upon arrival, contact was male with a male victim, 30, of Leonardtown, who advised he was assaulted while engaged in an argument with Waldestrudis Martinez Guevara, 25, of Leonardtown. Statements provided by both the complainant and suspect, resulted in the arrest of Ms. Guevara for second degree assault. Ms. Guevara was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, September 27 at 3:40pm, TFC M. J. Pitcher served a Bench Warrant (T3-14586) on Johnson R. Beckwith, 26, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on September 17 with an original charge of Obtaining CDS by Forged Prescription. Mr. Beckwith turned himself in to the St. Mary's County Detention Center, and following the service of the warrant, was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
DRUG ARREST: On Monday, September 27 at 4:45pm, TFC C. M. Evans, while on patrol in the Leonardtown area observed a grey Chevrolet mentioned during a lookout in regards to the operator possibly being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While following the vehicle, TFC Evans observed the vehicle commit traffic violations and as a result stopped the vehicle in the area of Moakley Street and Maryland Route 5. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, TFC Evans detected the odor of alcohol emitting from her breath. Field Sobriety was performed on Shauna Kathleen Shaw, 28, of Mechanicsville, and following positive results she was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed marijuana in plain view on the passenger seat of Ms. Shaw's vehicle. Ms. Shaw was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly. She was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, September 28 at 12:58am, Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann arrested Benny Llewellyn Goldsborough, 34, of Waldorf, while on the scene of a traffic stop in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Golden Beach Road. Mr. Goldsborough was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant (T3-14599) issued by the District Court of Calvert County. The original charge was Telephone Misuse: Repeat Calls when the warrant was issued on September 20. Mr. Goldsborough was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, September 28 at 10:20am, TFC M. R. Grimes and TFC J. R. Stern served warrants (T3-13789 / T3-13725) on Raymond Stanley Morgan, III, 24, of Waldorf, at the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Warrant number T3-13789, was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on December 18, 2008 with an original charge of Theft Less Than $500.00. Warrant number T3-13725, was issued on November 26, 2008 by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Second Degree Assault. Mr. Morgan was held at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, September 29 at 3:30am, TFC M. B. Adams served an arrest warrant (T3-14603) on David Ralph Speakman, 44, of Leonardtown. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on September 28 with an original charge of First Degree Assault and Second Degree Escape. Mr. Speakman was served at the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, September 30 at 10:05am, TFC E. J. Page served a Circuit Court warrant (T3-14584) on Charles Joseph Harting, 25, of Bowie. The warrant was issued on September 16 as a result of a Grand Jury Indictment for Life Threatening Injury / Vehicle - Boat / Under the Influence. Mr. Harting was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
