CALLAWAY, Md. (Sept. 30, 2010)—Public schools in the tri-county area have all altered schedules for today due to conditions facilitated by Tropical Rainstorm Nicole.
In Calvert County, schools are set to dismiss at their normal time, but after school activities have been canceled. Calvert County Public Schools after-school childcare will maintain their normal schedule.
Also in Calvert, afternoon prekindergarten was canceled. Morning prekindergarten students were scheduled to be transported home at their regular dismissal time.
In Charles County, All afternoon and evening activities scheduled for today have been canceled.
In St. Mary's County, schools will dismiss two hours early today. All afternoon and evening activities have been canceled. If no additional announcements are made, schools will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow.
Also in St. Mary's, morning prekindergarten students were held at their schools to be released at dismissal with all other students. Afternoon prekindergarten students did not attend school today.
