St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 27, 2010) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

Edward Lee Williams, 46 of Lexington Park. Arrest photo.SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On September 24, deputies responded to a residence on Prather Drive in Lexington Park for a disturbance. Investigation revealed Edward Lee Williams, 46 of Lexington Park, pictured at left, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into an assault when Williams punched the victim several times in the face. Williams was arrested for second degree assault.

TRESPASS: On September 25 at approximately 1:00 p.m., Dfc. Graves was patrolling Main Beach in the Golden Beach subdivision. Main Beach and the pavilion area are closed after dark and posted with no trespassing signs. As Dfc. Graves approached, he noticed an individual running from the pavilion area into the woods. Dfc. Graves located Charles Lynn Morgan, 18 of Mechanicsville, and charged him with trespassing.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On September 25, deputies responded to Woodpecker Lane in Hollywood for a report of an assault in progress. Investigation revealed Steven Allen Hammett, 38 of Leonardtown, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Hammett threw the victim to the ground and hit her. Hammett was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

Brandon Cortez Wilson, 18 of Lexington Park. Arrest photo.DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On September 25, deputies responded to the area of Lanyon Court in California for a trespassing complaint. The property owner advised the deputies that numerous individuals were having a bonfire party on his property without his permission. As deputies were disbursing the trespassers, they came across Brandon Cortez Wilson, 18 of Lexington Park, pictured at left, sleeping in a car on the property. Deputies awoke Wilson and told him he had to leave. Wilson began cursing the deputies which caused a crowd to people to gather around and observe. Deputies attempted several times to get Wilson to cooperate and leave, however, Wilson continued to use profane language and not comply with the deputies' direction. Wilson was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Arrest photo.ASSAULT, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On September 26 at approximately 3:42 a.m., deputies responded to Richey Road in Leonardtown for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Jessica Lynn Morgan, 28 of Leonardtown, pictured at left, was intoxicated and struck the victim in the face. Morgan left the residence, but at approximately 5:11 a.m. returned and assaulted the victim again by hitting him in the face with a metal aerosol can. Morgan then used a knife to puncture the victim's tires. Deputies located Morgan asleep in an abandoned vehicle in the yard. Morgan was arrested and charged with assault and destruction of property.

Arrest photo.15-YEAR-OLD IN POSSESSION OF LSD: On September 26, deputies responded to Leonardtown Shopping Center to check the welfare of several individuals who were sleeping in a vehicle parked in the parking lot. Upon arrival, Deputy Bowen made contact with Christopher James Mendel, 18 of Leonardtown, pictured at left, the front seat passenger of the vehicle. As Deputy Bowen was speaking with Mendel he observed a juvenile female in the rear, age 15 of Mechanicsville, attempting to conceal an object under her seat. All subjects were asked to exit the vehicle. When Deputy Bowen asked the juvenile what she was attempting to hide, she handed him a passport. Located inside of the passport was a small cubed shaped paper, suspected lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), contained in an aluminum foil wrapper. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a second aluminum foil wrapper containing suspected LSD under the passenger seat where Mendel was seated. The juvenile and Mendel were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
