CALLAWAY, Md. (Sept. 23, 2010)—Two candidate forums, featuring contested offices in St. Mary's County that will appear on the General Election ballot, have been scheduled for October 18 and 25. The forums are being jointly sponsored by the League of Women Voters of St. Mary's County, the St. Mary's branch of the NAACP, and the Center for the Study of Democracy at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
Candidates for state senator, state delegates of districts 29A and 29B, state's attorney, and the Board of Education have been invited to participate in the October 18 forum.
Candidates for president and the four districts of the St. Mary's County Board of Commissioners have been invited to the second forum on October 25.
Both forums will take place in the Leonardtown High School auditorium.
Candidates for all local offices have been invited to meet and greet the public and offer campaign literature in the lobby of the auditorium beginning at 6:00 p.m. The question-and-answer portions will begin at 6:30.
