St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 23, 2010) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On September 21, deputies responded to a residence on Maria Way in Lexington Park for a report of an assault in progress. Investigation revealed Brittany Nicole Medley, 21 of Lexington Park, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Medley pushed and choked the victim. In addition, Medley kicked a second victim at the residence. Medley fled the residence prior to the arrival of deputies, but later surrendered. Medley was charged with two counts of second degree assault.

VIOLATION OF A PROTECTIVE ORDER, TELEPHONE MISUSE, HARASSMENT: On September 22 at approximately 8:15 a.m., Charles Edward Taylor, III, 24 of no fixed address, was served with a protective order ordering that he have no contact with the petitioner of the order. On September 22 at approximately 8:40 a.m., Taylor sent numerous text messages to the petitioner/protected person in violation of the order. On September 22 at approximately 11:20 p.m., deputies located, arrested and charged with violating the conditions of a protective order, telephone misuse and harassment.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT, DISORDERLY INTOXICATION: On September 20, deputies responded to the area of Abbott Street and Woodland Road in Mechanicsville for a report of a woman unconscious in the roadway. Upon arrival deputies found Agnes Marie Nelson, 53 of Mechanicsville, intoxicated and laying in the road. Deputies requested an ambulance to respond to the scene. Nelson kicked DFC Graves twice as he and the ambulance personnel were attempting to render aid to her. Nelson was arrested and charged with second degree assault and disorderly intoxication.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On September 21, deputies responded to a residence on Liberty Street in Lexington Park for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Amos Samuel Milburn, Jr., 30 of Lexington Park, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Milburn threw the victim onto the floor causing her to strike her head on the side of a bath tub. Milburn was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

THEFT LESS THEN $1,000: On September 21, deputies responded to the Wal-Mart in California for a report of a theft. Investigation revealed Tina Louise Babcock, 26, and Bryant Mitchell Richardson, both of Callaway, entered the Wal-Mart, placed numerous items of clothing into a black nylon bag and exited the store without paying for the items. Store security confronted Babcock and Richardson in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Both fled the scene prior to the arrival of deputies but were located a short time later, arrested and charged with theft.
