MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 20, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT 1ST DEGREE: On Wednesday, September 15 at 9:06pm, TFC M. A. Moore responded to the Leonardtown Burchmart for a reported assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female victim, 22, of Saint Inigoes, and a male victim, 31, of Hollywood, both of whom advised that they encountered Ryan Patterson Foss, 24, of Waldorf, in the parking lot of the Burchmart. Both victims advised upon encountering Mr. Foss a verbal argument ensued and Mr. Foss pulled out a black gun and pointed it at them. Both victims left the scene for their safety. Mr. Foss subsequently fled the scene as well. Mr. Foss was located in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Merchants Lane in Leonardtown and was arrested based on statements provided by both victims and witnesses on the scene of the incident. Mr. Foss was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 1ST DEGREE: On Thursday, September 16 at 9:41am, Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann responded to the 45000 block of Oregon Way in Lexington Park for a reported domestic assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with Carl Edward White, 29, of Lexington Park, who was in front of the residence. Mr. White provided Tpr. Wiesemann with limited details regarding the incident that occurred between him and a female victim, 23, of Lexington Park. When the female victim was interviewed, she advised Tpr. Wiesemann that the incident began as an argument and she was struck by Mr. White. Mr. White was arrested for Second Degree Assault and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Friday, September 17 at 5:30pm, TFC M. R. Grimes was on patrol in the area of Missouri Street and Rogers Drive in Lexington Park when he observed two females engaged in a physical dispute. TFC Grimes exited his patrol vehicle and detained both females. Upon making contact with a female, 21, of Lexington Park, who was later determined to be the victim in the assault, he was advised that while engaged in a verbal altercation she was struck by another female. TFC Grimes was also provided with a statement from Unique Ontee Spicer, 24, of Lexington Park, which coincided with the statement given by the victim. Ms. Spicer was arrested for Second Degree Assault and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Ms. Spicer was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, September 17 at 6:05pm, TFC M. A. Moore initiated a traffic stop in the area of Maryland Route 235 and Kimberly Lane on a blue Ford Focus for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, Nathan William Cooksey, 19, of Waldorf, TFC Moore detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A search of Mr. Cooksey's person revealed a burnt marijuana cigarette in his possession. Mr. Cooksey was subsequently arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Cooksey was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

BURGLARY 4TH DEGREE: On Friday, September 17 at 11:54pm, Cpl. M. W. Laney was working security for St. Mary's Landing Apartments in Lexington Park observed a female subject, later identified as Shawntae Lynette Hyatte, 18, of Lexington Park, remove a screen and climb into the window that led to the rental office of the Apartment complex. Further inspection revealed that there were two other suspects inside the office space. Upon identifying all subjects, it was determined while tenants of the complex, the suspects were in the space unlawfully. With the assistance of TFC M. J. Pitcher, attempts to arrest Ms. Hyatte and Melanie Tanisha Gilbert, 18, of Lexington Park, resulted in MSP personnel being assaulted by the individuals. Ms. Hyatte and Ms. Gilbert were arrested and placed into patrol vehicles. The third suspect, Michael Anthony McCoy, Jr., 20 of Lexington Park, was also arrested. All three subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center to be charged with Burglary in the Fourth Degree. Ms. Hyatte and Ms. Gilbert were additionally charged with Assault and Disorderly Conduct. All subjects were held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, September 19 at 5:30am, TFC M. J. Pitcher served a Bench Warrant (T3-14577) on Michael S. Filloramo, 20, of Great Mills. The warrant was issued on September 9 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Malicious Destruction of Property. Mr. Filloramo was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
