LEONARDTOWN, Md. (August 24, 2010) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.
INDECENT EXPOSURE: On August 20, deputies responded to Millison Plaza in Lexington Park for a report of a subject exposing himself to person's shopping in the plaza and urinating in public. Ricky Ray Hewlett, Sr., 59 of no fixed address, was identified by witnesses as the subject who was exposing himself. Hewlett was arrested and charged with indecent exposure.
OPEN WARRANT, DRUG ARREST: On August 20, Deputy Thompson was patrolling the area of St. Mary's Square in Lexington Park when he observed Fredy Herman Eatmon II, 45 of Washington D.C. Deputy Thompson ran a warrant check of Eatmon and discovered he was wanted in Prince George's County on an outstanding warrant. Eatmon was arrested on the open warrant. Search incident to the arrest revealed Eatmon was in possession of a glass smoking device containing suspected crack cocaine residue. Eatmon was served with the open warrant and additionally charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, suspected cocaine and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
THEFT, THEFT SCHEME: On August 20, DFC Fahey responded to the Sea Breeze Restaurant in Mechanicsville for a report of a theft. Investigation revealed Carolyne Skye Woodall, 21 of Callaway, an employee of the restaurant, had been stealing money from the business since the beginning of August. Woodall was arrested and charged with theft over $1,000 but under $10,000 and theft scheme.
FOURTH DEGREE BURGLARY: On August 22, DFC Carberry responded to an unoccupied dwelling on North Sandgates Road in Mechanicsville for a burglary complaint. Investigation revealed Jeffrey Glenn Burch, 35 of Lusby, who is homeless, was staying in the dwelling without the knowledge or permission of the owner. Burch was found in the dwelling and arrested. Burch was charged with fourth degree burglary.
THREATS OF ARSON, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, DRIVING WHILE REVOKED: On August 22, deputies responded to Krystal Lane in Lexington Park for a report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed Donald Wade Balch, 42 of Lothian, is involved in a legal dispute with the victim. On August 22, Balch went to the victim's residence, rammed his vehicle into the victim's vehicle, threatened to burn the victim's house down and fled in a 1991 Dodge van prior to the arrival of the deputies. A lookout for Balch and the vehicle was dispatched. Balch was stopped on Patuxent Beach Road in California and arrested. Further investigation revealed Balch was operating the van on a revoked driver's license. Balch was charged destruction of property, threats of arson and with driving while revoked.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On August 22 at approximately 10:15 pm, deputies responded to Columbus Drive in Lexington Park for a report of a prowler. Upon arrival Deputy Snyder made contact with Harold Nathaniel White, 57 of Lexington Park, who appeared to be intoxicated and was yelling towards a residence. White, who was upset and yelling, told Deputy Snyder that he had been in a verbal dispute with an occupant of the residence and had been asked to leave the residence. Deputy Snyder asked White several times to lower his voice and stop yelling. White's yelling and disorderly behavior drew the attention of several neighbors who lookout out of their windows or exited their residences to investigate the disturbance. White refused to stop yelling, was arrested and charged with failing to obey a lawful order of a police officer and disorderly conduct.
THEFT UNDER $1,000: On August 22 at approximately 3:45 am DFC Fahey was patrolling the area of Maddox Road and Budds Creek Road when she noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot across from Village Liquors. Deputy Fahey investigated and conducted a computer check of the vehicle's registration. The computer check revealed the registration plate which was affixed to the vehicle was stolen. Dfc. Fahey approached the vehicle and found George Carlton Mattingly, Sr., 59 of no fixed address, sleeping in the vehicle. Matting was arrested and charged with theft under $1,000.
