MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (August 19, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On Sunday, August 15 at 3:21pm, Tpr. E. R. Mersman responded to the 24000 block of Morgan Road in Hollywood for a reported burglary. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 41, of Hollywood, who advised between 10:00am on Saturday, August 14 and 2:00pm on Sunday, August 15 unknown subjects entered a locked garage and removed property. Any information pertaining to this case may be forwarded to the Leonardtown Barrack; this investigation is ongoing.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, August 17 at 10:00am, TFC M. A. Moore arrested Robert Lee Blevins, 21, of an unknown fixed address, on an arrest warrant (T3-14537) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued on August 4 with an original charge of First Degree Assault. Mr. Blevins was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, August 17 at 12:10pm, TFC K. D. Lashley served a bench warrant (T3-13674) on Valla Olliver Thomas, 36, of Lusby. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County in October of 2008 with an original charge of Driving Under the Influence, Driving While Impaired by Alcohol, and Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Thomas was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, August 17 at 2:00pm, TFC E. J. Page stopped a white Ford Mustang in the area of Maryland Route 235 and the Hollywood firehouse based on information that the vehicle and an occupant were believed to be related to a theft case. Upon making contact with all occupants, an NCIC query revealed that front passenger, Franklin Douglas Blevins, Jr., 45, of California, had an outstanding warrant through Charles County. Mr. Blevins was arrested on that charge. Information provided by occupant and vehicle owner, Susan Lynn Abels, 45, of Mechanicsville, in regards to the theft led to her being identified as the suspect in question. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a large quantity of CDS - Not Marijuana. Arrested for Possession of CDS - Not Marijuana, and Possession of CDS - Not Marijuana with intent to distribute were Mr. Blevins, Ms. Abels, and Drewery Stafford Watkins, 3rd, 41, of Mechanicsville. All subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Ms. Abels was additionally charged with Theft Under $1000.00. All subjects were held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, August 17 at 2:05pm, TFC E. M. Evans arrested Louis Ignatious Berry, Sr., 43, of Leonardtown, on a bench warrant (T3-14511). The warrant was issued by the District Court of Calvert County on July 12 with an original charge of Telephone Misuse: Repeated Calls. Mr. Berry was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
