LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 29, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
RECOVERED PROPERTY: On Monday, July 26, 2010 at 7:49am, Tpr. R. L. Jackson responded to Hunter's Sign-In Post for Greenwell State Park for recovered property. Tpr. Jackson recovered four St. Mary's County Highway road signs that belonged at the intersection of St. Johns Road and Sandy Bottom Road as well as Shady Mile Drive and Shady Court. Investigation by Tpr. Jackson proved that the signs were removed from their locations a substantial time ago, as both intersections now display new signage. The recovered property was returned to the St. Mary's County Roads personnel on July 28. Any information pertaining to suspects responsible for moving the signage may be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, July 26 at 2:45pm, Stacey Lynn Sboto, 34, of Great Mills, turned herself into the Leonardtown Barrack. Ms. Sboto was subsequently arrested and served on an arrest warrant (T3-14506) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued on July 8 with an original charge of Second Degree Assault. Ms. Sboto was transported from the Leonardtown Barrack to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, July 27 at 4:20am, Tpr. E. R. Mersman arrested Robert D. McCarson, 23, of Leonardtown, on a bench warrant (T3-14507) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued on July 13 with an original charge of Unregistered Rifle/Shotgun. Mr. McCarson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, July 27 at 10:22am, Tpr. R. L. Jackson arrested Kristen Michele Ledford, 39, of Leonardtown, on an arrest warrant (T3-14513) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued on July 19 with an original charge of Second Degree Assault. Ms. Ledford was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Tuesday, July 27 at 4:25pm, TFC E. M. Evans responded to the 22000 block of Armsworthy Court in California for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 19, of California, who advised she was assaulted while engaged in an argument. Information provided by the complainant, a witness and suspect, Corey Brian Washington, 21, of California, resulted in Mr. Washington's arrest. Mr. Washington was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with Second Degree Assault. He will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, July 27 at 9:27pm, TFC E. M. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a white Honda Accord in the area of Old Three Notch Road and Sotterly Road for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the driver, Jessica Adele Kearney, 25, of Hollywood, a METERS/NCIC query revealed an outstanding warrant through the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department. Ms. Kearney was arrested for the warrant. A search incident to arrest and an inspection at the St. Mary's County Detention Center revealed that Ms. Kearney was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Ms. Kearney was charged accordingly and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
THEFT UNDER $1,000: On Wednesday, July 28 at 3:21pm, TFC E. M. Evans responded to the Navy Federal Bank on Corporate Way in Lexington Park for a reported bad check. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 30, of Lusby, who advised Victoria Elizabeth Milan, 18, of Great Mills, attempted to cash a check on a closed account. Evidence supporting the attempt was provided by the establishment. Ms. Milan was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Ms. Milan was charged accordingly and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
