MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (July 20, 2010) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

SHOPLIFTING: On July 13 at 7:08 p.m., TFC Wiersma responded to the Giant Food Store in Prince Frederick in reference to reported shoplifters. Two customers attempted to exit the store without paying for several items. Diane D. Mason, 45, and Yvonne Mason, 47, both of Chesapeake Beach, were unable to produce receipts for the items in their carts when exiting the store. Charges are pending.

THEFT: On July 13 at 6:30 p.m., TFC Hunt responded to the 3100 block of Calvert Blvd. in Lusby for a reported theft. An outboard boat motor was stolen from boat while it was parked in the yard. The motor is a white and silver Evanrude 40 horsepower motor. Investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On July 15 at 8:50 p.m., TFC Donaldson stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 2 at Skinners Turn Road. Shree Holland, 51 of Annapolis, was arrested for DUI. A search revealed Oxycodone pills for which she did not have a prescription. She was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On July 16 at 12:47 p.m., Trooper Thompson responded to the 12900 block of Mills Creek Drive in Lusby for a reported theft from a vehicle. A GPS and an IPOD were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at the residence. Investigation continues.

FALSE NAME, RESISTING ARREST, OPEN WARRANTS: On July 17 at 12:20 a.m., Trooper Esnes stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 4 at Fox Run Blvd. The passenger provided a false name and through investigation was found to have two open arrest warrants. Jody T. Jafari, 36 of St. Leonard, resisted arrest and Troopers had to physically remove him from the vehicle and place him under arrest. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE PARAPHERNALIA: On July 17 at 9:50 p.m., TFC Donaldson stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 260 in the area of Woodland Way in Owings. Tyrone T. Harrison, 51 of Landover, was arrested for DUI. A search revealed cocaine paraphernalia in his possession. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

INDECENT EXPOSURE: On July 16 at 1:10 p.m. hours TFC Hewitt was traveling south on Route 4 in the area of Nursery Road when he observed the driver of a vehicle exposing his genitalia and masturbating. The vehicle was stopped and David L. Winns, 45 of Huntingtown, was charged with indecent exposure.

POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA AND CONCEALED WEAPON: On July 18 at 07:46 a.m., Trooper West responded to the Shell Gas Station on West Dares Beach Road to check on the welfare of a person passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle while it was parked at the gas pumps. Cary J. Middledorf, 52 of Lothian, was arrested for DUI. Oxycontin pills and several illegal knives were found inside the vehicle. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF MOTOR VEHICLE: On July 18 at 4:43 p.m., Sgt. Moriarty received a complaint for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Vincent B. Peppins, Jr., 21 of Lusby, took possession of a vehicle without the owner's permission. He was later located and arrested. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On July 19 at 12:00 p.m., Tpr. West received a report of a theft from a vehicle. A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at the Cove Point Park Pool. Investigation continues.
