SOUTHERN MARYLAND (June 29, 2010)—The county commissioners for Calvert and St. Mary's counties announced the following schedule changes for local government functions for the coming Fourth of July holiday weekend.
CALVERT COUNTY
The Calvert County offices will be closed on Monday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day. County offices will reopen Tuesday, July 6, for regular hours.
The Appeal Landfill and all convenience centers will be closed on Sunday, July 4. All sites will be open for regular hours on Monday, July 5.
There will be no public transportation service on Monday, July 5, with regularly scheduled service to resume on Tuesday, July 6.
The three Calvert County senior centers and Calvert Library locations will be closed on Monday, July 5. Meals on Wheels volunteers will deliver meals on July 5.
ST. MARY'S COUNTY
County Government Offices will be closed on Monday, July 5, 2010, in observance of Independence Day. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, July 6.
The St. Andrews Landfill and six (6) Convenience Centers and the St. Mary's Transit System (STS) will not be operating on Sunday, July 4, but will be open normal business hours before and after the observed Independence Day holiday.
The three St. Mary's County libraries will also be closed on Saturday, July 3, Sunday, July 4 and Monday, July 5 and reopen on Tuesday, July 6.
All Senior Activity Centers will be closed on Monday, July 5 and there will be no Meals on Wheels delivery.
