LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 28, 2010)—The Taste of Summer has arrived at the St. Mary's County
farmers markets. The North St. Mary's County Farmers Market, located at the corner of Rte. 5 and Rte. 6 in Charlotte Hall near the Charlotte Hall Library opened in April and is open Monday through Saturday during daylight hours.
The California Farmers Market, located on the parking lot of BAE Systems near the intersection of Town Creek Drive and Rte. 235, is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Both of these markets offer locally grown produce and purchases support the county's agricultural base. WIC and Senior FMNP Checks are accepted at both farmers markets.
