Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (June 28, 2010) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of June 21 through June 27, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office responded to 1,844 calls for service throughout the community. Additionally, deputies arrested 12 people and charged them with DWI/DUI during the week.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: DFC Livingston responded to Chaney Enterprises on Skipjack Road on June 25 for a damaged property report. More than $2000 in damage was done to a gate at the end of Skipjack Road in Prince Frederick. The incident was caught on tape. DFC J. Livingston is investigating.

THEFT: Unknown suspect(s) stole a blue and yellow Mongoose 21 speed mountain bike off the porch of a home on Algonquin Court in Lusby. Dep. V. Evans is investigating the theft that occurred between June 25 and 26.

CDS VIOLATION: On June 26 at7:34 p.m. while on bike patrol at the Dunkirk Market Square shopping center, Dep. J. Norton heard a loud banging noise and observed a vehicle parked on the south side of the Safeway store. After approaching the vehicle and making contact with the driver, the driver suddenly put the vehicle in reverse and sped away. Dep. Norton was able to follow the car and observed it parked at the end of Taney Court. The driver was standing at the rear of the vehicle. Dep. Norton made contact and found the driver, identified as Ryan A. Bylan, 27 of Churchton, to be in possession of suspected drugs. He was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule II drug, Percocet and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a clear cigarette wrapper used to store Percocet. Bylan was also charged with negligent driving and attempting to elude a police officer.

ASSAULT: A 17-year-old male was charged on a youth report with 2nd degree assault on June 27 at 7:49 p.m. at the Cove Point Park. The juvenile became belligerent after being asked to get out of the pool during adult swim time. He threw a chair at a pool employee striking her in the leg. DFC D. Denton charged the youth and released him to a parent.
