Virginia Man Killed in Shooting Accident in Calvert


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (June 22, 2010)—A twenty-three year-old Reston, Virginia man died as a result of a shooting accident at a farm on Garrity Road in St. Leonard, Calvert County, in the early morning hours last Thursday. Police say George Frederick Noble was shot in the head with a .22 caliber rifle while he and two friends were practicing shooting at targets. Police were called to the scene around 4:00 a.m.

Mr. Noble was transported to P.G. Shock Trauma Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police say the shooting appears to have been accidental, although it is still under investigation.

The incident was investigated by Sgt. Sciana Roach of the Calvert Investigative Team (CIT).
