WASHINGTON (June 18, 2010) - The U.S. Department of Defense recently announced the following contract awards that pertain to local Navy activities.
General Electric Aviation, Lynn, Mass., is being awarded an $8,807,278 order against a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N00019-09-G-0009) to provide engineering and engine system improvement services in support of the F404 Component Improvement Program. The F404-GE-400 engine powers the F/A-18C/D Navy aircraft. Work will be performed in Lynn, Mass., and is expected to be completed in March 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
The Boeing Co., Saint Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $59,500,000 ceiling-priced modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-09-C-0050) to provide 3,300 flight hours of persistent intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance unmanned aircraft vehicle services in support of U.S. Marine Corps combat missions. Work will be performed in Bingen, Wash. (97 percent), and St. Louis, Mo. (3 percent); and is expected to be completed in December 2010. Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors, Owego, N.Y., is being awarded a $12,679,497 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-06-C-0098) for common cockpit provisioned items in support of the MH-60R and MH-60S helicopter programs. Work will be performed in Owego, N.Y., and is expected to be completed in July 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. ManTech Systems Engineering Corp., Fairfax, Va., is being awarded a $17,087,023 modification to a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (N00421-08-D-0008) to exercise an option for the procurement of warfare analysis, modeling and simulation software development, and analytic program support for the Naval Air Systems Command's Warfare Analysis and Integration Department. Work will be performed in Patuxent River, Md. (85 percent) and Lexington Park, Md., (15 percent), and is expected to be completed in June 2011. Science Applications International Corp., Lexington Park, Md. (N00421-10-D-0016); Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., McLean, Va. (N00421-10-D-0017); L-3 Communications Corp., Mount Laurel, N.J. (N00421-10-D-0018); and National Technologies, Inc., Alexandria, Va. (N00421-10-D-0019), are being awarded cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award contracts to provide business financial management and program and business analysis services in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft. The estimated level of effort for these contracts is 100,609 man-hours. A combined not-to-exceed ceiling of $9,386,597 exists for the ordering period and each contractor will be provided a fair opportunity to compete for individual task orders. Work will be performed at Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River, Md. (89.9 percent) and NAWCAD Lakehurst, N.J. (10.1 percent), and is expected to be completed in June 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. These contracts were solicited under a multiple award electronic request for proposals; four offers were received. Work will be performed in Ft. Worth, Texas (34 percent); Melbourne, Fla. (33 percent); and El Segundo, Calif. (33 percent); and is expected to be completed in June 2011. Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $546,001,600 firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the manufacture and delivery of lot seven UH-1Y and AH-1Z helicopters for the Marine Corps, to include 18 UH-1Y build new aircraft; nine AH-1Z remanufactured aircraft; and two AH-1Z build new aircraft. Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas (60 percent), and Amarillo, Texas (40 percent), and is expected to be completed in July 2013. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Conn., is being awarded an $8,423,277 firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (N00019-07-D-0004) to exercise an option for the fiscal 2010 VH-3D executive helicopter special progressive aircraft rework induction. Work will be performed in Stratford, Conn., and is expected to be completed in August 2011. Contract funds in the amount of $8,423,277 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Raytheon Co., El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a $9,045,214 firm-fixed-price delivery order against a previously issued basic order agreement (N00019-05-G-0008) for the procurement of 32 electro optical sensor unit weapon replaceable assemblies (WRAs), laser WRAs and laser electronic unit for the FA-18 and EA-18G aircraft. This order is in support of the WRAs in support of Advanced Targeting Forward-Looking Infrared Marker retrofit engineering change proposal 04270510. Work will be performed in McKinney, Texas (60 percent), and El Segundo, Calif. (40 percent), and is expected to be completed in July 2011.
