LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 4, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.
DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, May 30 at 12:35 am, Tpr. E. J. Page conducted a traffic stop on a silver Nissan Altima in the area of Pin Cushion Road and Sunnyside Road in Loveville. Upon approaching the driver, Steven Preston Yates, 60, of Loveville, Tpr. Page detected the odor of alcohol emitting from the vehicle. Subsequently, Mr. Yates was determined to be in Possession of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center to be charged accordingly. Mr. Yates will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Sunday, May 30 at 3:54 pm, a female complainant, 54, and a male complainant, 49, both of Lexington Park, responded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack to report an assault. Tpr. J. A. Pilkerton interviewed the subjects as well as the juvenile suspect who was on scene regarding the incident. Following statements provided by all parties involved, a male juvenile, 16, of Lexington Park was arrested for Second Degree Assault. The juvenile was released from the Maryland State Police Barrack pending further action by juvenile services.
DRUG ARREST: On Monday, May 31 at 9:32 am, TFC C. M. Evans conducted a traffic stop in the area of the Leonardtown Sunoco Gas Station on a silver Chevrolet Malibu for violating traffic laws. Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, TFC Evans detected a moderate odor of burnt marijuana. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed marijuana. Sonny Bruce Price, II, 56, of Leonardtown, was arrested for Possession of CDS and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Price will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
THEFT, DRUG ARREST: On May 31 at 8:28 pm, Cpl. M. W. Laney responded to the 24000 block of Three Notch Road, Hollywood for a reported Theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 21, of Hollywood, who advised Devon Lawrence Olmstead, 23, of Mechanicsville, stole a laptop from her. Mr. Olmstead was located on Maryland Route 247, in the area of Oakville Road. Following an interview and consent search, Mr. Olmstead was arrested for Possession of Oxycodone and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. The property was subsequently returned to the Maryland State Police Barrack by a third party.
DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, June 1 at 12:45 am, TFC M. B. Adams conducted a patrol check of Myrtle Point Park in California. During the check of the premises TFC Adams observed an unoccupied passenger vehicle at the entrance to the park which closes at sunset. A check of the park on foot by TFC Adams, and Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann revealed Alyssa Lynn Weber, 24, of Lexington Park, and Arden Joseph Keck, 26, of Leonardtown, in the park against regulations. A check of the surrounding area, led to the arrest of Ms. Weber and Mr. Keck for Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Keck and Ms. Weber were both transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending bond reviews with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, June 2 at 12:30 am, TFC M. B. Adams arrested Robert Bruce Boyle, Jr., 39, of Leonardtown on a Bench Warrant (T3-14406)issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on April 22. The original charge was Violation of Exparte/Protective Order. Mr. Boyle was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, June 2 at 5:00 am, Tpr. N. E. Gresko arrested Joel Ellis Roach, 40, of Park Hall, on a Bench Warrant (T3-14449) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on May 25. The original charge was Second Degree Assault. Mr. Roach was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, June 3 at 1:45 am, Tpr. G. A. Thompson arrested Emerson Eugene Anderson, 42, of California, on a Bench Warrant (T3-14402) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued on April 16 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Anderson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
