Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (June 4, 2010) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of May 24 through May 30, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office responded to 1,920 calls for service throughout the community. Additionally, deputies arrested 8 people and charged them with DWI/DUI during the week.

CDS VIOLATION: On May 25 at 2:05 p.m. DFC A. Locke charged Samuel Augustus Mangene, 18 of Huntingtown, with possession of drug paraphernalia, ZigZag rolling papers and an empty flashlight used to store marijuana. DFC Locke had conducted a traffic stop on Mangene's vehicle at southbound Md. Rt. 4 near Town Center Blvd. in Dunkirk.

THEFT: A $450 black Hardrock specialized bicycle was stolen from in front of West Marine on H.G. Trueman Road in Lusby on May 25 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC D. Denton at 410-535-2800.

THEFT: A golf cart valued at $2500 was stolen from Chesapeake Hills Golf Course in Lusby sometime overnight between May 24 and 25th. Dep. J. Lord is investigating.

CDS VIOLATION: After investigating a vehicle parked at the Southern Memorial Gardens cemetery on May 27 at 3:06 a.m. DFC M. Robshaw discovered the vehicle driver asleep inside the car. The driver, Joseph Francis Collins, IV, 21 of Dunkirk, was found to be in possession of suspected drugs and was charged with possession of a schedule II drug, Fentanyl Citrate and possession of a schedule IV drug, Midazolam Hydrochloride.

CDS VIOLATION: Cpl. A. Moschetto charged a passenger of a vehicle he had stopped for seat-belt violations with possession of drugs on May 27 at 10:50 a.m. near Thomas Johnson Bridge in Solomons. Christopher Dennis Mason-Gordon, 22 of Baltimore, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana in sufficient quantity to indicate intent to distribute.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: While parked in the parking lot of Bay Front Park in Chesapeake Beach on May 27, unknown suspect(s) broke the driver side window of a vehicle between 2:30 and 4:00 p.m. The culprit(s) stole a tan Coach purse valued at $125 containing cash and various credit cards and ID. DFC J. Elliott is investigating.

THEFT OF BOAT: A 14 foot two-seater aluminum John boat was stolen from a residence on Lake View Drive in Lusby between May 25 and 27. DFC M. Velasquez is investigating.

CDS VIOLATION: On May 28 at 2:45 p.m. after conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle at Md. Rt. 4 and Auto Drive in Prince Frederick, DFC J. Livingston arrested the passenger, 20-year-old Amanda Lynn Hudak of College Park and charged her with possession of Oxycodone in sufficient quantity to indicate intent to distribute.

BURGLARY: A home on Karen Drive in Chesapeake Beach was burglarized on May 28 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. The unknown suspect(s) stole a 42 inch Panasonic plasma television set, a white Nintendo Wii with 4 controllers, a black PS2 with 2 controllers and various games, together valued at over $2100. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. R. Kreps at 410-535-2800.

THEFT, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Numerous boats were vandalized at the Solomons Landing Marina between May 28 and 29 with over $17,000 in damage being done. Canvas covers were destroyed, lines were cut and boats were set adrift. Many CD/radios were stolen, along with marine radios and Nikon binoculars. Det. M. Mudd of C.I.T. is investigating.
