GREAT MILLS, Md. (May 28, 2010) Deputy State Fire Marshals have charged a 16-year-old male juvenile with activating the fire alarm system at Great Mills High School in Great Mills, St. Marys County.
The fire alarm pull station was activated at the high school at approximately 8:25 a.m., causing the entire facility to be evacuated. Deputy Fire Marshals and the St. Marys County Sheriff School Resource Officer determined the juvenile had caused the false alarm and became extremely disruptive when approached by the investigators.
The juvenile has been charged with causing a False Alarm and Disorderly Conduct and was transported to Cheltenham Youth Facility. If convicted of these charges he could face penalties not to exceed five years and two months imprisonment and/or $5,500 in fines.
