LA PLATA, Md. (May 12, 2010) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On May 9 at approximately 2000 hours, Trooper D. Ellington responded to the BP at the intersection of Route 210 and Route 227 in Bryans Road to assist TFC J. Edelen. TFC Edelen stopped a white Chevrolet Impala for window tint violation. A K-9 scan of the vehicle was conducted with a positive alert on the passenger door. Contact was made with the passenger Deloanta Nathaniel Hill, 25 of Bryan Road. Hill was arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, DUI, WEAPON: On May 9 at approximately 0146 hours, Trooper T. Zinn was on routine patrol on northbound Route 301 south of Acton Lane when he observed a green Dodge Ram weaving within two lanes. Trooper Zinn stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver Antwan Lamont Brandon, 33 of Oxon Hill, when he smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Brandon was charged with DUI; possession of marijuana and paraphernalia; carry a Ruger P-89 9mm handgun; dangerous weapon conceal about his person and knowingly transport a handgun in a vehicle on public roads.
FUGITIVE ARREST: On May 9 at approximately 2237 hours, Trooper T. Zinn was dispatched to 11575 Berry Road for a reported motor vehicle collision. Contact was made with the victim who stated the collision happened on Route 210 at Route 228. Contact was made with the at-fault driver, Thomas Anderson Crampton, 46 of Camp Springs. A check through NCIC revealed Crampton was wanted in King George, Virginia for numerous charges including possession of PCO, DUI and violation of probation. Crampton was also charged with possession of cocaine and paraphernalia.
