MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 6, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, April 28 at 8:30am, Tpr. J. S. Gibson served a Bench Warrant (T3-14400) on James D. Arney, 37, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County. The original charge was False Statement to Officer. Mr. Arney was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center, he will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $1000: On Saturday, May 1 at 8:41am, TFC J. R. Stern responded to the 18000 block of Bell Boy Lane in Valley Lee for a reported theft. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, 56, of Valley Lee whom advised she observed property stolen from her unsecured garage several days prior. The Complainant advised a gas powered generator, worth approximately $500.00 was removed by unknown suspect(s). This investigation is ongoing; any information regarding this case can be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, May 1 at 11:33am, TFC J. A. Pilkerton initiated a traffic stop on a White 2008 Chevrolet truck for exceeding the posted speed limit. The traffic stop occurred in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Old Village Road. Upon making contact with the driver, Ramon Carlos Granados, 30, of Elkridge, TFC Pilkerton detected a moderate odor of alcohol, and burnt marijuana. Mr. Granados admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. Mr. Granados was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Paraphernalia. Mr. Granados was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, May 2 at 2:56am, TFC C. M. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a White Oldsmobile Cutlass in the area of Maryland Route 235 and Maryland Route 237 for violation of traffic laws. Upon approaching the vehicle, TFC Evans detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Contact was made with the driver, Laconte Oneal Saunders, 55, of Fort Washington and a female passenger, 55, of Clinton. A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle. The search produced CDS paraphernalia and Marijuana, which Mr. Saunders was arrested for after claiming ownership of the items. Mr. Saunders was also charged accordingly for Possession of Crack Cocaine. Mr. Saunders was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, May 2 at 3:18pm, TFC J. G. Fleetwood served a Bench Warrant (T3-14309) on James E. Young, 46, of Avenue for Driving On A Suspended License and Failure To Stop At the Scene of An Accident. The warrant was issued on February 2 by the District Court in St. Mary's County. Mr. Young was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Sunday, May 2 at 6:40pm, Tpr. J. S. Gibson responded to the 40000 block of Merchants Lane in Leonardtown for a reported Malicious Destruction of Property. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, 18, of Mechanicsville who advised her personal vehicle was damaged by unknown suspect(s). No possible suspects were provided by the complainant. Any information regarding this case can be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack; this investigation is ongoing.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, May 3 at 5:00am, Tpr. S. Casarella served a Bench Warrant (T3-14255) on Joseph Louis Herbert, 54, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued by the District Court in St. Mary's County for Driving On A Suspended License on January 5. Mr. Herbert was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, May 3 at 10:00am, TFC J. R. Stern served a Bench Warrant (T3-14401) on Dante Deon Thomas, 25, of Great Mills for Second Degree Assault. The warrant was issued by the District Court in St. Mary's County on April 16. Mr. Thomas was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Monday, May 3 at 5:20pm, Tpr. N. E. Gresko initiated a traffic stop in the area of Baptist Church Road and Old Village Road on a Green Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The stop was initiated after Tpr. Gresko observed the front seat passenger in violation of Maryland Safety Belt Laws. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Krystle Noel Lathroum, 21, of Mechanicsville, Tpr. Gresko detected the odor of burnt Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search was subsequently performed, revealing CDS Paraphernalia. Ms. Lathroum claimed ownership of the items and was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Paraphernalia. The male passenger, 19, of Leonardtown was issued a seatbelt citation. Ms. Lathroum was transport to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, May 3 at 5:50pm, Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann served a Bench Warrant (T3-14331) on Kevin Donnell Garrett, 23, of Saint Leonard for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. The warrant was issued by the District Court in St. Mary's County on March 25. Mr. Garrett was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, May 4 at 2:30pm, TFC M. A. Moore served an Arrest Warrant (T3-14417) on Cary Michael Anderson, 30, of Dameron for CDS Possession - Not Marijuana. The warrant was issued by the District Court in St. Mary's County on April 29. Mr. Anderson was served at the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, May 4 at 3:00pm, TFC M. A. Moore served a Bench Warrant (T3-14411) on David Thomas Dillow, 25, of Hollywood. The original charge was Possession of CDS - Not Marijuana. The warrant was issued by the District Court in St. Mary's County on April 29. Mr. Dillow was served at the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, May 4 at 8:54pm, TFC M. B. Adams arrested Roy Robert Sapp, 47, of Waldorf on an Arrest Warrant (T3-14422) issued by the District Court in Calvert County. The original charge was Theft Over $500.00. Mr. Sapp was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, May 5 at 2:00pm, Tpr. R. L. Jackson served a Bench Warrant (T3-14415) on Caleisha Sharnay McLaughlin, 19, of Lexington Park for Driving Without A Required License. The warrant was issued by the District Court in St. Mary's County on April 30. Ms. McLaughlin was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
