St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 30, 2010) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE VIOLATION: On April 28, Deputy Thomas Seyfried stopped to check on a motorist who was stopped on the shoulder of Point Lookout Road in Great Mills. As the operator, Javonte M. Boddie, 22, of Fort Washington, was exiting his vehicle, he dropped a baggie of suspected Marijuana. Boddie was arrested and a further search of the vehicle revealed additional suspected Marijuana within the passenger compartment. Boddie was charged with possession of Marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released to the custody of the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

RETAIL THEFT/SEX OFFENSE: On April 29, DFC Scott Ruest responded to the CVS in Lexington Park for a theft. Dfc Ruest learned Willie Sheldon Miller, 43, of no fixed address, entered the business, used a bottle of deodorant and then returned it to the display shelf. While still in the store, Miller approached a customer/victim and rubbed her body with his hand without their consent. Miller who had left the business prior to the arrival of law enforcement was located in the vicinity of the business and arrested. Miller was charged with Second Degree Assault, Fourth Degree Sex Offense and Theft under $100.

RETAIL THEFT: On April 29, DFC Michael George responded to J.C. Penney in California for a theft. DFC George learned Jasmine A. Wilkins, 19, of Valley Lee, was observed by store staff concealing merchandise in her purse. Wilkins was confronted upon leaving the store and merchandise totaling $124.00 was recovered. Wilkins was charged on a criminal citation for theft under $1000 and released.

RETAIL THEFT: On April 29, DFC Timothy Reese responded to the Lowe's Store in California for a theft. DFC Reese learned Michael Wayne Dement, 53, of Callaway, was observed by store staff removing merchandise from the business totaling $836.69. Dement was also found to be in possession of a smoking device with suspected Cocaine residue. Dement was charged with Theft under $1000, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released to the custody of the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On April 29, DFC Scott Ruest responded to a residence in Hollywood for an assault. DFC Ruest learned Catherine Marie Jones, 46, of Hollywood, became involved in an argument with her husband/victim. The argument became physical and the victim sustained visible signs of injury. Jones was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault.
