LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 26, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, April 22 at 3:22pm, Tpr. G. A. Thompson arrested Seth Ignatius Lengel, 23, of Saint Inigoes, on a Bench Warrant (T3-14380) issued by the District Court in St. Mary's County on March 30. The original charge was Malicious Destruction of Property. Mr. Lengel was transported to the Detention Center in St. Mary's County and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Thursday, April 22 at 6:29pm, Tpr. J. S. Gibson responded to the 23000 block of West Patuxent Beach Road for a reported Malicious Destruction of Property. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, 40, of California, who advised that a window to her garage was broken by an unknown subject. Investigations have produced no further leads; any information regarding this case can be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, April 22 at 8:30pm, Tpr. J. S. Gibson served a Bench Warrant (T3-12266) for Driving Under the Influence on William Marcus White III, 35, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued in July of 2006 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. White was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Friday, April 23 at 6:04pm, Tpr. E. R. Mersman responded to the 21000 block of Bristol Ave in Lexington Park for a reported fight in progress. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, 29, of Lexington Park, who advised she and a male complainant, 28, of Lexington Park, were both assaulted and had property damaged by a male subject. Further investigation led to the arrest of Francis DeSales Bell, Jr., 44, of Mechanicsville. Mr. Bell was located and transported to St. Mary's County Detention Center. He will be charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, April 23 at 9:00pm, TFC D. S. Brill arrested Joshua Scott Schellhase, 26, of Leonardtown, on a Bench Warrant (T3-14351) issued by the District Court in St. Mary's County on March 5. The original charge was Driving On a Suspended License. Mr. Schellhase was served at the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
ASSAULT 1ST DEGREE: On Saturday, April 24 at 12:56am, TFC M. B. Adams responded 23000 block of Rosewood Court, California for a reported Motor Vehicle Theft. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, 39, of California, who advised Wendell Renard Kyler, 43, of California, was in possession of her vehicle without her consent. Mr. Kyler, in an attempt to retain possession of the vehicle assaulted the complainant and another female, 21, of Mechanicsville. Mr. Kyler was located by a St. Mary's County Deputy following a lookout broadcast by the Emergency Communications Center. Mr. Kyler was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. A Search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Kyler was in possession of Oxycodone not prescribed to him. He will be charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, April 25 at 12:03am, TFC J. A. Pilkerton was involved in a vehicle pursuit that ended in the area of Maryland Route 4, South of Wildewood Parkway. The vehicle had previously been involved in a pursuit with the Charles County Sheriff's Office that was called off upon entering St. Mary's County. When stopped, the driver was immediately apprehended for Fleeing and Eluding. During the course of the stop it was determined the driver, Michael Howard Williams, 44, of Waldorf, was under the influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Mr. Williams was arrested for an outstanding Warrant issued by Charles County, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and applicable violations of Maryland Traffic Laws. Mr. Williams was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
