St. Mary's County BCI Police Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 22, 2010) - The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) today released the following incident and arrest reports. BCI is an investigative team comprised of detectives from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown.

DNA MATCH ON COLD CASE: On December 19, 2007, police responded to the Bank of America located in Lexington Park for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation by detectives from BCI revealed the victim was approached by a male subject, armed with a large knife, while making a withdrawal from the ATM. The suspect demanded money from the victim and a struggle ensued. The victim received minor lacerations as a result of the struggle. A large knife was recovered from the scene and submitted for DNA testing. A DNA standard was collected from the handle of the knife and entered into a DNA Database. Recently a search of the DNA Database resulted in a DNA match to Antonio Jamear Warrick, age 20, of Lexington Park. Warrick is currently incarcerated in the Eastern Correctional Institute in Westover, Maryland on unrelated charges. On April 21, 2010 Warrack was served with an arrest warrant charging him with Armed Robbery and Assault 2nd Degree. Warrick remains incarcerated at ECI.

SEX OFFENDER RELEASED: In a continuing effort to keep the citizens of St. Mary's County informed, Sheriff Timothy Cameron makes the following notification: On April 21, Alan Jay Patke, age 44, registered sex offender completed his sentence and was released from the Detention Center. Patke is residing on Clarkes Landing Lane in Hollywood and will be working at Recorded Books on Skipjack Road in Prince Frederick.
