MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 22, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Monday, April 19 at 3:07pm, TFC D. S. Brill responded to an altercation on a school bus in the area of Point Lookout Road and Cedar Lane in Leonardtown. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, 38, of California who advised the dispute was between two juveniles. A 15 year old male, of Lexington Park advised that he was struck by another juvenile, 16, of Lexington Park. After information was provided by both individuals, the 16 year old male was arrested and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack. The juvenile was released to his parents from the Leonardtown Barrack pending further action by juvenile services.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Monday, April 19 at 6:12pm, Tpr. J. C. Hardesty responded to Chopticon High School in Morganza for a reported Malicious Destruction of Property to a motor vehicle. Contact was made with the female complainant, 42, of LaPlata. Information provided by the complainant, indicates the damage may be retaliation from a previous argument and dispute between two juveniles. This investigation is ongoing.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, April 19 at 9:40pm, Tpr. J. S. Gibson served a Bench Warrant (T3-14403) on Raymond Ayren Bowles, 46, of Leonardtown. The warrant was for Driving an Uninsured Vehicle and issued in May of 2009 by the District Court in Charles County. Mr. Bowles was served at the Detention Center in St. Mary's County and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, April 19 at 10:55pm, Nathan Lorenso Jaime, 21, of Hillsville, Virginia was located and arrested on a Bench Warrant (T3-14332) by Tpr. J. C. Hardesty. The warrant was issued by the District Court in St. Mary's County on February 26 for Driving On a Suspended License. Mr. Jaime was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

HANDGUN VIOLATION: On Tuesday, April 20 at 2:25am, Tpr. R. L. Jackson initiated a traffic stop on White Dodge Caliber traveling at a high rate of speed on Northbound Maryland Route 235, prior to Clarkes Landing Road. Upon making contact with the driver, Tpr Jackson observed a holstered semi-automatic handgun within reach of the driver. Initially detained for officer safety was Tony Justin Wetherald, 27, of Lexington Park. Mr. Wetherald was arrested on charges related to the handgun and DUI. Mr. Wetherald was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center, and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

BURGLARY: On Wednesday, April 21 at 1:11pm, TFC J. R. Stern responded to a residence in 47000 block of Satchel Paige Way, Leonardtown for a reported Burglary. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, 32, of Leonardtown who advised that upon returning to her residence she observed that multiple electronic items were stolen. Investigations produced that entry was possibly made through an unsecured rear door, and items of value were removed. Any information regarding this case can be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. This investigation is ongoing.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, April 22 at 12:33am, Tpr. N. E. Gresko initiated a traffic stop on a Red Ford Escort with inoperable taillights on Maryland Route 5, at Moll Dyer Road. Upon making contact with the driver, Candice Elisha Johnson, 25, of Callaway, Tpr. Gresko detected a strong odor of burnt Marijuana. Following a probable cause search, Ms. Johnson was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Paraphernalia. Ms. Johnson admitted ownership of all items and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Thursday, April 22 at 12:33am, TFC M. B. Adams responded to the 18000 block of Point Lookout Road in Park Hall for a reported assault. While en route to the scene, TFC Adams located the vehicle, as described by the Emergency Communications Center, that the suspect was believed to be operating. A stop was initiated and contact was made with Earl Thomas Anderson, 21, of Park Hall. Mr. Anderson provided details of the altercation between him and the male complainant, 20, of Park Hall. Mr. Anderson was transported back to the scene of the dispute by TFC Adams. After interviewing both parties, Mr. Anderson was arrested for Second Degree Assault. Mr. Anderson was charged accordingly and will be held at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
