LA PLATA, Md. (April 7, 2010) - The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
SHERIFF'S OFFICERS LOCATE FUGITIVE WHO HAD FIVE OPEN WARRANTS: On April 6 at 2:15 p.m., Officer R. Gass with the Charles County Sheriff's Office Warrant Fugitive Unit arrested Jason Keith Faiola, 38, of no fixed address, after receiving information Faiola was at an address on Prince Albert Square in Waldorf. Faiola had five open warrants including charges of theft, failure to register as a sex offender and violation of probation. He was remanded to the Charles County Detention Center.
MAN CHARGED WITH DUI AFTER STRIKING POLICE CRUISER: On April 6 at 11:48 p.m., Officer B. Virts initiated a traffic stop in the 9900 block of Poorhouse Road in La Plata after the vehicle reportedly left the scene of an earlier accident. The driver, Antonio Lyles, 38, of Port Tobacco, pulled into a driveway and exited his truck without putting it in park. The truck rolled backwards into the officer's cruiser, causing minor damage. Officer Virts made contact with Lyles who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Lyles failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. He was remanded to the Charles County Detention Center.
