Drug Arrests in St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 01, 2010) - The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) Narcotics Division today released the following incident and arrest reports. The Division is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police Drug Enforcement Division and Federal Drug Agents (HIDTA Group 34). The Division was established on September 1st, 2007 and is based in St. Mary’s County.

DRUG RAID: Detectives, assisted by the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Emergency Service Team, executed a search and seizure warrant on a Great Mills home. The targets of the warrant, Kese Eman Lyles, 28, of Great Mills, and Sheldon Lyvonne Curtis, 29, of Great Mills, were both present. Approximately $3,000 worth of marijuana was recovered as well as cash that was hidden inside the home, digital scales and cell phones. Additional charges are pending a review with State's Attorney Richard D. Fritz.

DRUG RAID: Information was received by detectives that Suspect Corey Bowman, 29, of Lexington Park, was distributing various controlled substances in and around the Lexington Park area. Detectives began the investigation into Suspect Bowman and his drug operation in November of 2009. Detectives made undercover purchases of cocaine from Suspect Bowman and that led to the execution of a search and seizure warrant. More than $1,000 in "Crack" cocaine, $1,000 in power cocaine, two digital scales, $1,200 in cash, 20 ecstasy pills (valued at $500) and a quantity of marijuana were recovered. Multiple felony charges are pending a State's Attorney's Office review.

DRUG RAID: Detectives received information that Keith Brown, 20, of Lexington Park, was selling cocaine in the Lexington Park area. As the investigation progressed, a search and seizure warrant was obtained and executed. Cocaine and a handgun were recovered. Additional charges are pending.

INDICTMENT FOR MANUFACTURING MARIJUANA: Kenneth Aloysius Hall was indicted by detectives after a marijuana grow was discovered inside his Callaway home. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute and manufacturing marijuana.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO COCAINE ARREST: While off-duty, Captain Daniel D. Alioto conducted a vehicle stop in the Drayden area and identified Robert Stanley Whalen, 46, of Drayden, as the operator of the vehicle. Suspect Whalen was operating with a suspended license. He was arrested and a search revealed a metal canister that contained cocaine.
