Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (March 29, 2010) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of March 22 through 28, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office responded to 1,777 calls for service throughout the community. Additionally, deputies arrested 3 people and charged them with DWI/DUI during the week.

THEFT: Dep. Craig Johnson is investigating the theft of tires from vehicles at Bayside Chevrolet in Prince Frederick that occurred overnight between March 25 and 26. An employee of the business advised that two spare tires and 2 hoist tubes for them, together valued at $750, were stolen. The tires fit Chevrolet Suburban vehicles. THEFT: Sometime between February 25 and March 26 unknown suspect(s) stole a walk behind green Bobcat lawn mower worth $1500 from the Mount Harmony Professional Center in Owings. The mower is valued at $1500. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Thomas Rickard at 410-535-2800.

CDS VIOLATION: While conducting a patrol check of the area at the end of Pushaw Station Road in Sunderland on March 26 at 11:12 p.m. Dep. Jeffrey Denton observed a vehicle occupied by three persons parked with the engine running. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Mark Ellis Grace III, 22 of Owings, was found to be in possession of suspected drugs and paraphernalia. He was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of Suboxone, use of drug paraphernalia, a homemade smoking device and use of drug paraphernalia, a plastic cellophane wrapper as well as paper used to contain crack cocaine.

BURGLARY: Unknown suspect(s) stole items from a shed behind a home on Lake Shore Drive in Owings between March 13 and 27. The homeowner advised DFC Mark Robshaw that a John Deere self propelled push mower worth $500 and a Sears air compressor on wheels valued at $400 were both taken. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Robshaw at 410-535-2800.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. James Norton conducted a traffic stop on March 27 at 12:10 p.m. on Md. Rt. 4 at Whispering Drive in Prince Frederick. The driver was found to be in possession of suspected drug paraphernalia. Thomas Bryan Duck, 18 of Lusby, was charged with possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a plastic straw.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Dep. Christopher Wells is investigating a theft from a vehicle on Cattle Drive in Lusby that occurred overnight between March 26 and 27. Unknown suspect(s) stole an Ipod, a Garmin GPS and a wallet from inside the vehicle. The property is valued at $800.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A victim advised DFC Jason Dean that as he was traveling on Stinnett Road in the area of Emmanuel Church Road in Huntingtown on March 27 at about 10:00 p.m. an unknown object struck the driver's side window causing it to shatter. He was not injured but damage to the vehicle is estimated at $225. A check of the area by DFC Dean did not reveal any suspect information.

THEFT: A John Deere JS-63C push lawn mower valued at $566 was stolen from the rear of a vehicle on Abbey Lane in Huntingtown between 2:30 p.m. on March 26 and 9:00 a.m. on March 27. The mower is green and yellow. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Craig Johnson at 410-535-2800.
