CALLAWAY, Md. (March 25, 2010)—The Southern Maryland Sabres' Squirt ice hockey team traveled to Philadelphia recently to show off what Maryland has to offer in the 3rd Annual Kapral Memoral Tournament. They did not disappoint. With 2 ties, 2 shut outs, and a single point victory, the Squirts brought home the first place trophy and banner.
"Throughout the tournament, an amazing team effort was put forth, led by the team MVP, Ryan Boeck, who with the help of his teammates put in an amazing 12 goals,"
stated Cathy Keelan, vice president of the hockey club. "Our MVP could not have done it alone. Amazing defense, awesome goal tending, hard skating, fantastic passing, and above all, superb teamwork put it all together!"
