MSP Reports for Charles County


LA PLATA, Md. (March 22, 2010) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On March 17 at approximately 2313 hours, Trooper A. Watson was on duty at the Days Inn Hotel located at 11370 Days Court, assisting the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Deputies with a call for a suspicious person on the third floor. While Trooper Watson was walking down the hallway, he detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from a room. Contact was made with the occupants, Herbert Maurice Blackley, 27, of Newport, Virginia and Renetta Lynn Baker, 24, of La Plata. Blackley and Baker were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, COCAINE: On March 19 at approximately 2224 hours, TFC J. Edelen was traveling southbound U.S. Route 301, south of Route 227 when he observed a white Mitsubishi following a blue conversion van, less than one car length behind the van for approximately ½ mile. TFC Edelen stopped the Mitsubishi and made contact with the driver, Thomas Lloyd Randolph Jones, 28, of Hughesville, and his passenger, Quincy Nathaniel Goldring, 25, of La Plata. TFC W. Posey arrived on the scene to assist. TFC Edelen conducted a K-9 scan. Jones and Goldring were arrested for Possession of marijuana and cocaine.
