LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 19, 2010)—Police today announced that Michael Thirion, age 49, of Mechanicsville, was the man arrested on March 15 for the alleged sexual abuse of two females, currently 19 and 15 years of age, in Mechanicsville.
The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations announced the arrest on March 15, but did not release Thirion's name at that time.
Folowing is the information released on March 15:
"On March 13, detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) conducted an investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of two females, currently 19 and 15 years of age in Mechanicsville. The investigation revealed a 49-year-old male family member had sexually abused the victims several times a week over the past 7 years. The suspect was identified, placed under arrest, charged with 2 counts of Felony Child Abuse, 2 counts of Second Degree Sex Offense, 2 counts of Third Degree Sex Offense and 2 counts of engaging in a continuing course of conduct over a period of 90 days with a victim under the age of 14 years which includes three or more acts. The subject was incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center and is currently being held on a $250,000 bond."
