LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Feb. 23, 2010) - The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) Narcotics Division released the following incident and arrest reports. The Division is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Marys County Sheriffs Office, Maryland State Police Drug Enforcement Division and Federal Drug Agents (HIDTA Group 34). The Division was established on September 1st, 2007 and is based in St. Marys County.
DISTRIBUTION OF MARIJUANA: Vice Narcotics detectives conducted a several month investigation into the distribution of marijuana by Suspect Robert "Lance" Lumpkins of Great Mills. Purchases of marijuana were made from Suspect Lumpkins. The cases were reviewed by State's Attorney Richard D. Fritz and then presented to the Grand Jury for St. Mary's County. An arrest warrant was issued and Suspect Lumpkins was arrested on the indicted felony counts. This included the charge of Distribution of Marijuana. He was originally held without bond.
DRUG ARREST: Vice Narcotics detectives received information that there was drug active in a Mechanicsville neighborhood. Enough information was gathered during the course of the investigation for the detectives to obtain a search and seizure warrant. The St. Mary's County Emergency Services Team assisted in executing the search warrant. Once inside, detectives recovered a quantity of marijuana, more than $500 worth of cocaine, prescription medication to include oxycotin and methadone pills (approximately $700.00 value) and nearly $700.00 in case. Arrested was Judith Ann Labille, 38, of Mechanicsville, and Glenn Fitzgerald Fenwick, a/k/a "Duke," 47, of California. Additional charges are pending a review with State's Attorney Richard D. Fritz.
FOUR POUNDS OF MARIJUANA, STOLEN GUN: Vice Narcotics detectives conducted an investigation into the distribution of marijuana in the Lexington Park area. As the investigation continued detectives were able to obtain a search and seizure warrant for a Lexington Park residence. Detectives were assisted by the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Team in the execution of the search warrant. Detectives seized more than four pounds of marijuana with a street value of $6,000 and two handguns. One of the handguns was reported stolen in a burglary from a Great Mills home. James Nathaniel Watkins, 26, of Lexington Park, was arrested and charged accordingly. A review with the State's Attorney and additional charges are expected.
