Calvert Offers Free Disposal of Green Debris from Recent Snow Storms


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Feb. 22, 2010) – The Calvert County Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division will accept residential tree/green debris resulting from the recent snow storms free of charge at the Appeal landfill through Saturday, March 13. All commercial haulers will be charged the standard fee for tree/green debris.

Appeal Landfill will accept residential tree/green debris between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Tree/green storm debris is limited to un-bagged leaves, trees, limbs, branches, bushes and shrubs. All other non-green storm debris, including construction and demolition debris such as carpeting, drywall, wood, roofing or insulation, will be accepted at the Appeal landfill for a fee.

After March 13, green debris must be taken to the Appeal landfill for a fee.
