LA PLATA, Md. (Feb. 16, 2010) - The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
BURGLARY: On February 15 at 1:42 a.m., officers responded to Buddies Liquors at 4611 Indian Head Highway in Indian Head for the report of an intrusion alarm. Upon arrival, officers observed the front door had been forced open. The owner responded to the store and advised several packs of cigarettes and a few bottles of alcohol had been stolen. Sgt. J. Hastings is investigating.
SHERIFF'S OFFICERS CHARGE TEENS IN BURGLARY: On February 10 at 1:55 p.m. officers responded to the 5500 block of Torpedo Court in Waldorf or the report of a burglary to a vacant house. Upon arrival, officers observed two suspects exiting the house through a back door. The suspects fled to a wooded area but were apprehended a short distance away. Officers went back to the house and discovered spray-paint and graffiti on the walls. The teens - a 16-year old male and 15-year old male - were charged with burglary and destruction of property. They were released to their parents. Officer J. Long investigated.
CALL FOR DISPUTE LEADS TO FUGITIVE ARREST, DRUG CHARGES: On February 7 at 10:55 a.m., officers responded to the 7000 block of Garden Court in Bryans Road for the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers encountered one of the parties involved in the dispute hiding underneath a car. Eric Lamont Washington, 43, of Bryans Road, was coaxed away from the car. A computer check revealed he had two open warrants charging him with violating probation and the unlawful taking of property. During the course of the arrest, officers found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia on Washington. He was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officer K.
