LA PLATA, Md. (Feb. 05, 2010) - All evening and weekend activities scheduled for Feb. 5-7 for Charles County Public Schools are canceled due to inclement weather. Administrative offices for the system will close at 1 p.m. today.
The regional Math Counts competition, sponsored by the tri-county school systems and the Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO), scheduled for Feb. 6 has been rescheduled for 8 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, at Theodore G. Davis Middle School in Waldorf. If inclement weather conditions cause an additional cancellation for next Saturday, the event will take place Feb. 20 at Davis.
The Charles County winter cheerleading competition has been rescheduled for 6:30 p.m., Feb. 9, at North Point High School. Make-up dates are 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, or 6:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12 (if necessary), both at North Point.
The south regional cheerleading competition has been rescheduled to 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, at North Point. The north regional cheerleading competition is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, at North Point.
The state cheerleading competition is 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, at North Point.
Additionally, students who have registered to take the ACT test at any local testing center should visit the ACT Web site, http://www.actstudents.org/ , for cancellation information.
