Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (Jan. 14, 2010) - The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

OFFICERS RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLE: On January 14 at 4:31 a.m., officers responded to the 10300 block of Jewel Court in Waldorf after the homeowner reported a suspicious vehicle parked in front of his house. A computer check revealed the car had been reported stolen from Prince Georges County. The vehicle was stripped of its hood, trunk, driver side doors, lights, and front bumper. Officer R Johnson is investigating.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/POSSIBLE ATTEMPT BURGLARY: On January 13 at 6:52 p.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of Bolinbrook Court in Bryans Road for an alarm complaint. Officers discovered a window had been broken out in the back of the house and the frame had been pushed in. The residence was checked by K-9 and the homeowner advised nothing was missing. It does not appear that entry was made. Officer R. Gilroy is investigating.

OFFICERS ARREST VANDALS SPRAY PAINTING GRAFFITI: On January 13 at 6:53 p.m., officers responded to Car Quest at 2725 Old Washington Road in Waldorf for the report of two males spray painting graffiti on a building. Officer J. Timko arrived on the scene and located a 16-year-old male and a 15-year old accomplice whose hands were covered with paint, holding two cans of spray. The suspects were arrested and transported to District 3. As they were being processed, officers developed information the suspects were responsible for previous spray painting vandalisms that occurred in the Lancaster neighborhood. Both suspects were charged with destruction or property and released to their parents. Officers J. Timko, I Bier, B. Virts and S. Fulton investigated.

BURGLARY: On January 13 at 6:42 p.m., officers responded to the 6500 block of Cornell Road in Bryans Road for the report of a burglary. Investigation revealed unknown suspects broke into a house and stole computers and a camera. Officers canvassed the area and processed the scene for evidence. Officer K. Burger is investigating.
