Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Jan 4, 2010) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Unknown suspect(s) stole $30 worth of prescription medication out of an unlocked vehicle parked outside a home on 15th Street in Chesapeake Beach sometime overnight between December 30 and 31. DFC Robert Burggraff is investigating.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY; DFC Carl Fischer is investigating a destruction of property that occurred when someone threw a water bottle at a vehicle parked outside a home on Knight Avenue in Dunkirk on December 31 at about 9:00 p.m. The damage is estimated at $50.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Sometime between December 31 and January 1, unknown suspect(s) damaged a vehicle parked on 8th Street in North Beach causing $100 in damage. The victim advised DFC Robert Burggraff that the suspect(s) made entry into the locked vehicle but nothing appears to have been taken.

TAMPERING WITH MOTOR VEHICLE: Unknown suspect(s) tampered with a vehicle parked on 7th Street in North Beach. The victim advised DFC Robert Burggraff that someone entered his unlocked vehicle overnight between December 31 and January 1 but no damage was done and nothing appears to have been taken.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Approximately $300 in damage occurred when unknown suspect(s) broke out the rear window of a vehicle parked outside a home on Big Bear Lane in Lusby overnight between December 31 and January 1. Dep. Jason Lord is investigating.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Dep. Craig Johnson is investigating a theft from an unlocked vehicle on Meadow Lane in Chesapeake Beach between December 31 and January 1. The suspect(s) stole A Nintendo DS gaming system along with 7 games valued together at $300, a Garmin GPS unit worth $500, a Kodak camera valued at $100 and chrome and teal colored Versace sunglasses worth $250. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Johnson at 410-535-2800.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Roscoe Kreps conducted a traffic stop on January 2 at 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Safeway in Prince Frederick. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Frankie Joseph Tayman, 18 of Prince Frederick, was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule II drug, Oxycodone, and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a cellophane cigarette wrapper used to store Oxycodone.

BURGLARY: A home was broken into on Olivet Road in Lusby. It was discovered on January 3 at 10:00 a.m. Dep. James Norton responded and was advised by the victim that nothing appears to have been taken; however, $150 in damage was done. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Steve Jones of the C.I.T. at 410-535-2800 ext. 2462.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Sometime between December 31 and January 2, unknown suspect(s) entered three vehicles belonging to two victims on Independence Drive in Port Republic. Two Garmin GPS units, together valued at $480 and a brown leather purse were stolen from inside the three unlocked vehicles. Dep. Norton is continuing the investigation.
