St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 30, 2009) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Between the hours of 10:00 pm on April 28 and 6:00 am on April 29, the sheriff's office received numerous complaints (15 so far) of destruction of property. The incidents occurred at various locations throughout Lexington Park. Vehicle windows were shot and destroyed with the use of a BB gun. Investigation identified a witness who gave a description of a suspect vehicle, a two door, dark, mid 1990 Cadillac Elderado. Dfc. A. Whipkey observed the suspect vehicle in the area. The driver of the vehicle committed a traffic violation and was stopped. As Dfc. Whipkey was speaking with the driver, a 17 year-old male from Lexington Park, he observed BB's lying throughout the vehicle. Dfc. Whipkey asked the driver to step from the vehicle. As the driver was stepping from the vehicle Dfc. Whipkey observed a BB gun, a CO2 box and a box of Daisy BB's in the vehicle. The juvenile was arrested and charged with 5 counts of destruction of property and one count of malicious destruction of property scheme valued over $500. The juvenile was released to his mother. The investigation is continuing and more charges may be pending.

BURGLARY, SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On April 28, Deputy Nelson responded to a residence on Carefree Way in Lexington Park for a domestic assault. Investigation revealed Orbin Hans Carter, IV, 24 of Lexington Park, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim while standing in the victim's driveway. The victim asked Carter to leave. He refused and pushed the victim and struck her in the face. The victim took her son and went into her residence. Carter kicked in the door to the victim's residence and unlawfully entered. The victim continued to tell Carter to leave which he refused. A neighbor heard the dispute and arrived at the victim's residence. The neighbor told Carter to leave and he complied. A short time later, deputies located Carter at his residence and arrested him for second degree assault, 1st degree burglary, and destruction of property.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On April 29 deputies responded to a residence on Indian Way in Great Mills for a report of a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed Ricky Joe Davis, 28, of Great Mills, was in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated to an assault when Davis scratched and kicked the victim. Davis was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On April 29 deputies responded to a residence on Lincoln Avenue in Lexington Park for a report of a domestic assault. Investigation revealed Scott Patrick Adams, 35, of Lexington Park, assaulted the victim by punching her in the face. Adams was arrested and charged with second degree assault.
