LA PLATA, Md. (April 20, 2009)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office announced they will be conducting sobriety checkpoints Friday, April 24, through Sunday, April 26. Police are not disclosing the time or location of the checkpoints. Signs on the roadway will advise motorists as they approach it.
Officers will check all vehicles that pass through the checkpoints and drivers who are found to be intoxicated will be arrested, say police. Delays for motorists are expected to be minimal.
