Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (April 16, 2009) - The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF DRUGS: On April 13 at 11:14 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the 3400 block of Medway Street in Indian Head for the report of a fight. Officers made contact with the suspect, Michael Tyrone Thompson, 25, of Waldorf, and another man. At that time, Thompson attempted to eat a small amount of marijuana. He fled on foot as officers initiated an arrest. Thompson was arrested a short distance away and the marijuana was recovered. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and failure to obey a lawful order. Officer E. Leukhardt made the arrest.

BURGLARY: On April 14 at 12:52 p.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of English Oak Court in Waldorf for the report of a break-in. Investigation revealed two unknown suspects broke out a window in a sliding glass door and stole a television, rifles and a shotgun. Officer P. DeBoe is handling the investigation.

MAN CHARGED WITH STEALING TOOLS FROM RELATIVE: On April 14 at 8 a.m., officers responded to the 8900 block of Brooks Drive in Waldorf for the report of a theft. Upon arrival, officers were advised by the victim that the suspect - a relative of the complainant - stole tools including a drill, drill stand and drill bits. Officers developed information that led them to the Ft. Washington area. As they investigated, officers observed members of the PGPD detaining the suspect near a wooded area in the 5100 block of Indian Head Highway. The suspect, Bret Villalon, 21, of Waldorf, was arrested and charged with theft over $500. The stolen tools were recovered. Officer D. Benthin made the arrest.

MAN CHARGED WITH THEFT FROM CONSTRUCTION SITES: Charles County Sheriff's officers arrested a man wanted in connection with several thefts from construction sites. In March, officers initiated an investigation into the thefts, usually consisting of gas cylinders, construction materials and plywood. The investigation led to the identity of the suspect, Michael Lamonte McBride, 51, of Bryans Road. He was arrested on April 1 and charged with theft over $500. Stolen property was recovered and returned to the owners. Corporal D. Belfield made the arrest.
