LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 30, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
VEHICLE PLATE THEFT: On Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11:56 am, a female complainant, 51, of Mechanicsville contacted Sgt. Redmond at the Leonardtown Barrack concerning the theft of the front Maryland Registration plate. The registration plate was stolen from a 2004 Ford F-150. The registration plate was last seen on the vehicle on March 1, 2009. The registration plate has been entered into NCIC and the investigation is ongoing.
VEHICLE PLATE THEFT: On Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 1:05 pm, Paulette Renee Sollers, 45, of Park Hall was arrested for theft under $100.00. Tpr. M. Pitcher responded to the 18000 block of Point Lookout Road in Park Hall for the reported Disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 53, of Park Hall who advised Ms. Sollers had stolen his registration plates and struck him with a Nissan Maxima as she was leaving the residence. Ms. Sollers was later apprehended and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing. She was later transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
ASSAULT ON SCHOOL BUS: On Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 3:30 pm, TFC J. Stern responded to Three Notch Road, south of Mt. Zion Church Road in Mechanicsville for the reported disturbance on a school bus. Upon arrival, contact was made with the school bus driver, 55, of Charlotte Hall. He advised a male juvenile, 12, of Lexington Park was disruptive on the school bus and was assaulting another male juvenile on the bus. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack where he was charged with 2nd Degree Assault and disrupting a school activity. He was released to his legal guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services.
COULDN'T PAY RESTAURANT BILL: On Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 5:05 pm, Tpr. J. Pilkerton responded to Crabby Rick's Seafood Restaurant located at 28976 Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville for the theft under $100.00. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 46, of Mechanicsville. The manager advised Donnie Dezree Johnson, 74, of California was failing to pay for the food she ordered. Ms. Johnson had passed several bad checks at this establishment and had no money to pay her bill. She was arrested for Theft under $100.00 and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 2:33 pm, Tpr. J. Pilkerton responded to the 43000 block of Columbus Drive in Lexington Park for the reported malicious destruction of property to a vacant residence. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 38, of Mechanicsville who advised she is an agent with Century 21 and was about to show an apartment and discovered unknown suspects maliciously damaged four screens and windows to the apartment. Neighborhood checks were performed with negative results and the investigation continues.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 11:22 pm, Cpl. J. Linger initiated a traffic stop on Three Notch Road at Town Creek Drive in California on a black Honda Civic for an equipment violation. Upon contact with the driver, and the passenger, a female juvenile, 17, of Leonardtown, a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. The passenger was found to be in possession of a partially burnt Marijuana cigar. The 17 year-old passenger was taken into custody. A search incident to arrest revealed she was also in possession of marijuana and a second marijuana cigar. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack where she was processed and released to her mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.
VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: On Friday, March 27, 2009 at 9:37 am, Darius Timothy Woodland, Sr., 33, of Lexington Park was arrested for violation of protective order. TFC M. Adams responded to the 41000 block of Norris Street in Leonardtown for the reported violation of protective order. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 45, of Leonardtown, who advised she was contacted by Mr. Woodland by telephone and that there is a temporary protective order in effect and he was not to have any contact with the complainant. Mr. Woodland was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
VEHICLE PLATE THEFT: On Friday, March 27, 2009 at 1:18 pm, the female complainant, 32, of Leonardtown responded to the Leonardtown Barrack to report her front Maryland registration plate was last observed on her vehicle at 6:00 pm on March 26, 2009. Tpr. E. Page initiated a report for theft under $100.00. The Maryland registration plate has been entered into NCIC and the investigation continues.
SHOPLIFTING: On Friday, March 27, 2009 at 5:52 pm, TFC J. Stern responded to the Belk Department Store for the reported theft under $500.00. Upon arrival, TFC Stern was directed to the wood line where the suspect, Joseph Dale Thomas, 51, of Lexington Park was located. A search of his person revealed a pair of shorts which he stole from the Belk Department store in addition to other items which were taken from the store. Contact was made with the female Loss Prevention Officer, 46, of Lexington Park. She advised she observed the suspect remove the items from the store. Mr. Thomas was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 2:07 am, Alicia Dawn Van Kirk, 19, of Mechanicsville was arrested TFC R. Rezza for Possession of Marijuana. Ms. Van Kirk was operating a gray Toyota Corolla on north bound Three Notch Road in the area of Shady Mile Road in California when she was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with Ms. Van Kirk, a distinct odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Ms. Van Kirk was found to be in possession of two clear plastic bags of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. She was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 3:14 am, Joshua Steven Decker, 21, of Park Hall was arrested by Cpl. J. Linger for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Decker was a passenger in black Buick Park Avenue when it was stopped on Point Lookout Road, north of Willows Road in Lexington Park for exceeding the posted speed limit. Mr. Decker was found to be in possession of two baggies of Marijuana and he was transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing. He was then transferred to the Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
ASSAULT: On Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 7:32 pm, Marlo Lionel Herbert, 31, of Loveville was arrested for assault 2nd degree. Tpr. G. Thompson was responding to a Domestic Disturbance in the 26000 block of Hills Drive in Mechanicsville when he was advised the suspect had left the scene and was traveling on Chaptico Road. Tpr. Thompson was able to locate the white Ford Taurus Mr. Herbert was a passenger in. All parties were interviewed and Mr. Herbert was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 1:54 am, Christopher Adam Paul, 21, of Lusby was arrested Cpl. J. Linger for DWI, possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. Paul, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. Paul was arrested for DWI/DUI. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Paul was in possession of a metal CDS smoking device containing burnt marijuana. Mr. Paul was taken to the Leonardtown Barrack for DWI processing and then transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 6:00 pm, Michael Andrew Linthicum, 27, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Linthicum was operating a gray Honda Accord on Mechanicsville Road in the area of Little Ranch Lane in Mechanicsville when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. While speaking with Mr. Linthicum, a faint odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Linthicum was found to be in possession of a medication bottle containing marijuana and a CDS smoking device. Mr. Linthicum was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
