St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 27, 2009) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT: On March 26 deputies responded to a residence on Ridge Road in Lexington Park for a report of a stabbing. Investigation revealed Christopher William Marshall, 19 of Lexington Park, was engaged in a dispute with the victim. The verbal dispute became physical when Marshall pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the back. The victim received medical treatment on the scene from EMS personnel. Marshall was arrested and charged with first and second degree assault.

ATTEMPTED MURDER, FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT: On March 20 at approximately 9:43 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on Quiet Lane in Leonardtown to check the welfare of Nancy Martha Ahearn, 35 of Leonardtown. Deputy J. Labrack made contact with Ahearn and her eighteen month-old child. During the contact Deputy Labrack's attention was temporarily diverted when the child pulled a book shelf over onto himself. As Deputy Labrack was assisting the child, Ahearn went to a closet, retrieved a handgun and pointed it in the direction of Deputy Labrack. As Deputy Labrack was retreating to a position of cover, Ahearn tracked his movement with the handgun. While behind cover, Deputy Labrack observed Ahearn pull the trigger of the handgun which was still pointed in his direction. The handgun failed to fire more then once. Deputy Labrack was able to disarm and subdue Ahearn. Ahearn was transported to St. Mary's Hospital for an evaluation. On March 25 Nancy Ahearn was charged with attempted murder and first degree assault.
