Elms Beach Park Closed; Repairs Underway

LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 21, 2009)—Due to extensive vandalism, the St. Mary’s County Government Elms Beach Park in Dameron is closed to both vehicular and pedestrian visitors.

The facilities are being repaired and the park should reopen within the month.

Elms Beach Park is one of 19 county parks. It is located on 476 acres and contains a playground, picnic tables and a picnic pavilion. Citizens can use the waterfront park for fishing and crabbing and the beach.
