LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 20, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
DWI SATURATION PATROL: On Tuesday, March 17, from 7:00 pm to Wednesday, March 18, at 3:00 am, seven Troopers from the Leonardtown Barrack conducted a DWI saturation patrol concentrating enforcement efforts on the Three Notch Road in the areas of California and Lexington Park. Enforcement efforts produced six DWI arrests which included a motor vehicle accident resulting in arresting the driver for DWI and resisting arrest.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, THEFT: On Tuesday, March 17, at 8:57 pm, James Robert Wilson, 23, of Charlotte Hall, was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for possession of marijuana and theft under $100.00. Tpr. G. Thompson responded to the Food Lion in Charlotte Hall for the reported theft in progress. Mr. Wilson was observed exiting a residence on Mt. Wolfe Road in Charlotte Hall after a broadcast was given. Mr. Wilson fled into the woods and was later apprehended by Deputy J. Vezzosi. Mr. Wilson was turned over to Tpr. Thompson. A search of his person revealed he was in possession of marijuana and he was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
CAR ACCIDENT, DUI: On Wednesday, March 18, at 12:45 am, Dennis Edward Jackson Jr., 33, of St. Leonard, was arrested by Tpr. M. Koock for DUI and resisting arrest. Tpr. M. Koock was responding to a disturbance in the 28000 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville when she observed a car accident in the median approximately 500 yards south of the disturbance. Mr. Jackson was operating a blue Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera when he collided with a white Ford Explorer. As Tpr Koock made contact with Mr. Jackson, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. Jackson became uncooperative. Tpr. Koock attempted to place Mr. Jackson under arrest when he began to resist. He was subdued and taken into custody. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
BENCH WARRANT: On Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 11:00 am, Pamela L. Johnson, 21, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an outstanding bench warrant (T31-13688) for failing to pay deferred payment of $557.50 by June 30, 2008. The original charge was Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. She was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
