St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 9, 2009)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On March 5, 2009 Deputies responded to Three Notch Road in Hollywood for a report of a domestic assault. Investigation revealed Rebbeca Ann Ellis, 43 of Hollywood, was engaged in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical assault when she punched the victim in the mouth. Ellis was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On March 6, 2009 Deputies responded to Dement Lane in California for a report of a domestic assault. Investigation revealed Patricia Diane Parker, 52 of California, was engaged in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical assault when she scratched the victim on the nose. Parker was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT: On March 6, 2009 Deputies responded to Tri Community Way in Lexington Park for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Crystal Lashawn Holmes, 26 of Lexington Park, was engaged in verbal dispute which escalated into a physical assault when she drove over a curb and struck the victim with her vehicle. The verbal dispute continued and Holmes again drove her vehicle over a curb and struck the victim a second time with her car. Holmes fled the scene. Further investigation revealed Holmes had an active protective order dated February 2009 commanding her not to threaten to abuse, abuse, or harass the protected person (victim in this case). Holmes was located a short time later, arrested, and charged with two counts of first degree assault, second degree assault, and violation of a protective order.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE: On March 6 Corporal C. Earle was in the King Kennedy Estates area attempting to detect illegal drug activity. Corporal Earle observed Gregory Trmyne Shingles, 22 of Mechanicsville, loitering and entering two different vehicles. The vehicle then drove towards the rear of King Kennedy Estates. After a few moments the vehicles drove back around to the front and Shingles exited the vehicle. This activity is consistent with illegal drug activity. On March 7 Corporal Earle was once more in the King Kennedy Estates area in an attempt to detect illegal drug activity. Gregory Shingles was again in the area loitering. Corporal Earl observed Shingles waved his arms in the air and flag down a 2001 Ford Explorer. Shingles entered the vehicle and it drove off. Corporal Earle observed the driver of the vehicle commit a traffic violation. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Shingles for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine. Sherry Lynn King, 33 of California, a passenger in the vehicle, was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine. The driver has not been charged.
